PERTH or BUST
- Well a little bit bust. Rebelyell visits Perth for issue 9.
by Greg Barnes

For Rebel Yell, the rugged shores of West Aus have been on a hit list of must see BMX hot spots for some time now. Word of the tight and friendly street riding scene, rugged beaches, epic scenery, and infamously high numbers of smoking hot women have all contributed to this draw card. So during the typically rainy month of August here in Melbourne, Polack and I jumped into the giant flying sardine can that is a Virgin domestic aircraft and were Perth bound.

During our 8 day stint we hung out with recent S and M team recruit, Jamie Mauri who fanged full speed at everything in his path and chatted ‘bonedeth’, video projects and tunes for mag # 9 ‘the music issue’. We were treated to some of the most epic street spots that Perth has to offer including a university that resembled the infamous Düsseldorf institution and schools that were as ridiculous as a ‘Tony Hawk’ computer game. We also had the pleasure of sessioning a swimming pool that had more flow than some purpose built bowls with a crew of old skool pool skaters in the back of an abandoned building that suspiciously resembled a brothel.

Big thanks go out to Jarvis at ‘Freestyle Now’, who showed us a whole new level of hospitality. Also to all of the ‘how hard is it’ crew (anyone who hasn’t seen the video yet, check it out, those guys are on some next level sheet). Oh, and Dolley who broke his arm while shooting with Polack. That man is still beasting the streets.

Here are a few pics from behind the scene's of what went down in Perth.
Check out the new issue of Rebelyell issue 9 due out at the end of Feb.

ps. the smashed window was a result to us being attacked on a friday night by a gang of kids.
